We all want our students to write better papers and use more scholarly resources.  One way to do this is schedule an Information Tutorial in your class.  However due to experience we ask you to think about the following:

  • Do your students have an upcoming assignment? If not, it is best to wait until about a month before the assignment is due.
  • Will you be accompanying your class? If the instructor is involved the students will participate more actively.
  • Please try to schedule sessions at least a week in advance.
(example: ENG 101 session 1)
(example: BLC 122A)
If it is easier, you can email your assignment to library@cairn.edu.
Depending on the complexity of your assignment, it may be helpful for the students to watch a video prior to the session so that we can cover questions and actually work on the assignment in class during the tutorial.
