The article discusses the variations of superior mesenteric artery observed during dissection of the abdomen of a while male cadaver in Athens, Greece. Topics discussed include the occurrence of common hepatic artery (CHA) from the superior mesenteric artery (SMA), the rarity of CHA originating from the SMA and the occurrence of the double colic artery. Also mentioned is the disappearance of anastomotic root between celiac artery and SMA due to suppression of the pancreatoduodenal arc.
