    • Abstract:
The article reports on a study from the University of Reading in England which reveals the capacity of blueberries to improve blood vessel function. According to Jeremy Spencer, head of the study, the findings show the health benefits of flavonoids, a plant compound, particularly on heart health. Tufts University expert Jeffrey Blumberg advises consumers not to limit themselves to blueberries as source of flavonoids since there are other sources such as green tea and dark chocolate. INSET: PICKING BERRIES.
