    • Abstract:
The article focuses on when patient choice is detrimental to the patient. It states that the concept of choice has been idealized in a way that people assume it's always in people's best interests and mentions the story "Sophie's Choice," by William Styron as an example of how choice can go against human freedom and not be morally binding. It talks about patient choice concerning inoculations and suggests that collective risk from a pandemic and the harm from it makes that choice nonviable.
