    • Abstract:
The article reports on the shortage problem of doctors in Israel as of August 14, 2010. According to the Israel Medical Association, hospitals immediately need additional 500 beds to address the demand during the summer heat. Ronni Gamzu, the health ministry's director general, shares that patients spend 70,000 hospital days annually in corridors, especially during seasonal flu peaks. Factors that have contributed to the crisis are cited.
