    • Abstract:
The author argues that a sophisticated and nuanced account of values should be the focus of health care reform in the U.S. She asserts that it is necessary for the health care sector to engage in deeper and more productive discussions about values in order to create a solid foundation for reform. She adds that these values must include justice, liberty, responsibility as well as stewardship. She also mentions the efforts of the Hastings Center in New York to explore these values by publishing a collection of essays.
