    • Abstract:
The author discusses issues involving the reforming of Medicare's physician payment system. It is noted that most Medicare reimbursement has moved toward bundled payments. He expresses concern that provider organizations may seek to boost their incomes by inappropriately increasing volume, providing services to patients who don't really need them. It is argued that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services should consider a redesign of an aggregated physician payment system.
