    • Abstract:
The article presents information from research in Greece that focused on making an early differential diagnosis between Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) complex and non-tuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) cervical lymphadenitis in children. The diagnostic criteria for MTB lymphadenitis, positive tuberculin skin test reaction, abnormal chest radiograph, and reported contact with someone with infectious tuberculosis, are discussed. Surgical intervention in NTM and MTB cases is noted.
