      The article discusses the celebration of famous Underground Railroad walk on September 29, 2002 in the U.S. A group of volunteers, led by New Jersey secretary of state Regena Thomas, began the 14-day walk to celebrate those who traveled along the Underground Railroad--a movement that thrived from 1830 through the Civil War, stretching from the upper American South to Canada and delivering an estimated 30,000 to 40,000 slaves to freedom. nurses from Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey (VNACJ) took turns accompanying the volunteers to tend to their health care needs.
