      The article discusses how a plant-based eating plan and maintenance of healthy weight help in the protection of the liver. Topics discussed include increased alcohol intake to cause liver disease and promotes fatty deposits in the liver, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) as most common liver disease, need to limit sugar intake as sugar is converted to fat or trigylcerides, and studies to suggest foods in Mediterranean-style diet to help in reducing liver fat.
