    • Abstract:
The article discusses research being done on the effects of educational interventions for self management of asthma in children. It references a study by J. P. Guevara and colleagues, published in a 2003 issue of the "British Journal of Medicine." The meta-analysis gathered results from 32 controlled clinical trials of asthma education interventions for children. Outcomes measured included lung function, number of days absent from school, number of days of restricted activity, number of disturbed nights, self-efficacy scales, symptom scores, number of visits to an emergency department and hospitalizations.
