      The Sinagua culture is known from sites in central Arizona around the Sunset Crater Sunset Crater volcano near Flagstaff, Arizona, and in the upper Verde Valley. Its interpretation is complex, and Sinagua has been variously identified as a branch of the Mogollon tradition, Patayan tradition, or Hakataya tradition. In general, Sinagua is representative of a blending of cultural traits either through population movements or the adoption of features from neighboring peoples.
