    • Abstract:
The subject of religious accommodation in the workplace concerns the extent to which employers, both public and private, can be required by law to permit employees to be exempt from workplace requirements that they would otherwise be subject to, on the grounds that those requirements conflict with the employee’s religious beliefs and practices. In some cases the employer will be forced to permit the employee to follow her religion rather than workplace policy, while in other cases the employee will have to either abide by workplace policy or seek employment elsewhere.
