    • Abstract:
The authors reflect on a policy of Great Britain's Department of Health which uses a price regulation scheme to control spending on brand name drugs, and on planned government reform which would base a drug's price on its health benefits. They argue that value based pricing might lead to lower spending at the country's National Health Service (NHS). They argue that a poorly specified price plan could damage the NHS and undermine the evidence base for future NHS policies.
