    • Abstract:
The article examines the modern test of vibrational properties of the unassembled top and back plates of a violin. Modern methods has been applied by the Catgut Acoustical Society to the study of physics and acoustic of several stringed instruments including the violin. The plates of the violin are carved from solid blocks of wood wherein measurement of the wood's vibrational properties is included to create a fine-sounding violin.
