    • Abstract:
The article reports on studies by Stanford University and University of Vermont researchers on the productivity effects of multitasking. The studies found that multitasking impairs productivity as the act of doing different tasks at one time hinders concentration or focus. Central Vermont Public Service and National Life Insurance Co. are among firms preventing excessive multitasking in their work areas. Tips to control multitasking are presented, including listing priorities and scheduling email processing.
