    • Abstract:
The article focuses on the latest office design being adopted by corporations in Greater Des Moines, Iowa. They are now removing the concept of compartmentalism in the offices, the concept that separates employees from their teammates. The purpose of the new office design is to create an environment that paves the way for unhindered interaction among workers. To check the ultimate rising noise in the new office environment, the companies are installing a white-noise system that plays a soft hum through speakers in the ceilings. The workers become accustomed to the sound which effectively drowns out their conversations.
